What Is Pantoprazole?

Pantoprazole is a generic medication that belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors, or PPIs. PPIs work by binding to the proteins that are responsible for producing stomach acid, helping to reduce its production. Pantoprazole is usually taken once daily as a delayed-release tablet, and it has very minimal side effects, which include nausea, drowsiness, fatigue, joint pain, gas, and more.
