New locally-based online pharmacy aims to save consumers money

A new online pharmacy has opened up in a West Waco storefront that aims to save consumers money by providing generic prescription drugs at wholesale prices.

Scriptco.com, which doesn’t take insurance, charges $120 for an annual membership and offers generics at wholesale prices that can be hundreds of dollars less that traditional pharmacies charge.

“We are a real pharmacy; you can look it up on the state pharmacy board. We have a DEA license, and we have a pharmacist in charge,” says Mark McCormick of Waco, one of the six Texans behind the enterprise.

“Scriptco.com will act in a manner like a co-op,” McCormick said.

“You become a member and you literally get your meds at the wholesale cost that we buy it for so it creates transparency,” he said.

Co-owner Zach Zeller says he hasn’t found another pharmacy operating in the same manner.

“The conversations that we have had with people are overwhelming and I can’t believe, it’s almost too good to be true,” he said.

“We go straight to the wholesaler and the real price of your medication will shock you,” he said.

Scriptco.com is now licensed to do business in only Texas and Massachusetts, but plans to expand into all 50 states.
